SUMMARY: In Internet Explorer 8, toggle whether or not a blue Accelerator button should appear when you select text.
When you select text inside a webpage from within Internet Explorer 8, a blue Accelerator button appears near the text. Click on this button and Internet Explorer 8 displays Accelerators, allowing you to access web pages with the selected text to perform such tasks as searching for an address, searching the Internet for the selected text, and performing text translation.
Some may not wish to use Accelerators, thus some computers may have this button disabled. Others may not see this button and wish to enable it to easily use Accelerators. To toggle the display of this button:
1. Access the Internet Options dialog box. If the menu bar is visible, you can select "Tools" - "Internet Options". If the Command Bar is visible, click the "Tools" button and select "Internet Options". If neither are available, try typing Alt + T then O.
