Visiting a travel website or another site with city names or US zip codes via Internet Explorer 8 and want to display the weather forecasts? There's no need to visit a weather website directly, then key in the desired city or zip code and press the "Search" button. Instead, highlight the city or zip code and view the weather forecast from The Weather Channel in a new tab via an Accelerator.

1. From Internet Explorer, visit the following URL:

http://www.ieaddons.com/en/details/weather/Weathercom/

2. Click the "Add to Internet Explorer" button.

3. Confirm the Accelerator information is correct. If you want this to be the default Accelerator for the "weather" category, meaning you do not have to go through a second step of accessing an "All Accelerators" submenu, click the "Make this my default provider for this Accelerator Category" box. Then click the "Add" button.

Now find a webpage with a city name or US zip code and highlight the text. A Blue Accelerator button should appear. Click the button and select "Search Weather.com". Note that if you did not make this the default accelerator for the category, you'll need to first select "All Accelerators". Then, select "Search Weather.com". The weather forecast should then appear in a new tab.

Note that this accelerator does have a live preview function when you hover over the menu item. However, due to the advertisements and layout of the pages accessed on Weather.com, this feature is not very useful.
