Windows Internet Explorer 9
No Warning When Closing Multiple Tabs?
SUMMARY: If you accidentally close all tabs in Internet Explorer 9 and no warning is displayed, turn it back on.
By default, if you close Windows Internet Explorer 9 when multiple tabs are open, the web browser should show you a warning asking if you want to close just the currently open tab or all tabs. This might save you from a lot of trouble if you just want to close a Facebook window, for example, and don't notice that you have Twitter and Google+ sessions still open.
In some cases this warning may have accidentally been disabled. To turn it back on:
1. Press Alt+T then O to access Internet Explorer's options. You may optionally use the Menu Bar, or click the gears ("Tools") icon, then choose "Internet options".
2. The "Internet Options" dialog box appears. Make sure the "General" tab is selected.
3. Next to "Tabs", click the "Settings" button.
4. The "Tabbed Browsing Settings" dialog box appears. Check "Warn me when closing multiple tabs".
5. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.
Return to the Windows Internet Explorer 9 page.
