SUMMARY: See exactly what is contained inside Internet Explorer's cache and where the files came from with freeware IECacheView.
Ever curious about the contents of the data Internet Explorer stores in its cache while you browse the web? Would you like to know the URL where each file in the cache came from, when it got there, and how often it has been accessed?
IECacheView, a freeware Windows tool from NirSoft, lets you view this information and do much more. Cache items can be sorted by content type, originating URL, file size, and other fields, and you can search for particular cache entries. Cache entries can be exported to other folders. You can create HTML reports of cache items complete with links to the originating URLs. Reports can also be saved in text, CSV, and XML formats. Or, delete cache items as desired.

The application includes command-line options allowing administrators to develop batch files that create cache file reports and export cache entries.
IECacheView comes as a ZIP file - just unpack the file into a new directory and run IECacheView.exe - no installation is necessary. You can even unpack the file onto a USB flash drive for portability.
