Prevent an ActiveX Control From Running

SUMMARY: Prevent Internet Explorer from running a specific ActiveX Control you suspect to be spyware / adware.

For security reasons, you may want to prevent certain ActiveX Controls from running in Internet Explorer. Perhaps you have a malicious control installed that you need to disable that is not currently caught by anti-spyware software, or you know of a particular ActiveX control that you never wish to download and activate in the first place. To do so, the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article may help:
