Internet Explorer 7 Toolbar - Menu Bar - Status Bar - Toggle Viewing the Status Bar

SUMMARY: Disable Internet Explorer 7's status bar to use more of the screen to view web pages.

The Internet Explorer 7 status bar, if turned on, displays helpful information such as:

* The intended address of a hyperlink when you hover your mouse over a link

* A link to the website's privacy report (if any)

* The webpage's security zone

* A panel where you can change the zoom level of the current page

However, the status bar does take up room on the screen that could be used to display more of the current webpage.

To toggle the status bar on or off:

1. Right-click an empty area in the tab bar (next to one of your tabs).

2. Check or uncheck "Status Bar" as desired.
