Microsoft Internet Explorer 7

Change How Links from Other Programs Are Opened

SUMMARY: Configure in Internet Explorer if links from other applications are opened in tabs or new windows.
 
When other applications attempt to open websites via Internet Explorer 7, you can configure how the browse will open such sites.

1. Click on the "Tools" button in the toolbar, selecting "Internet Options".

2. When the "Internet Options" dialog box appears, select the "General" tab.

3. Underneath "Tabs", click the "Settings" button.

4. When the "Tabbed Browsing Settings" dialog box appears, click one of the radio buttons underneath "Open links from other programs in":

* A new window - Opens links in new Internet Explorer windows

* A new tab in the current window - Creates a new tab if an Internet Explorer window is opened; otherwise, opens a new Internet Explorer window

* The current tab or window - Replaces the current tab or window with the desired webpage; otherwise, opens a new Internet Explorer window

5. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.
