Look for Stock Quotes and Charts

SUMMARY: Search for stock quotes, charts, and related company news and information using the Google search engine.

To search for stock quotes using Google, you don't have to search for the phrase "stock quotes" or "online stock quotes" if you know the company's stock exchange abbreviation. Just enter the symbol directly into Google's search box, such as:

* AAPL - Apple
* FB - FaceBook
* GM - General Motors
* GOOG - Google
* MSFT - Microsoft
* PG - Procter & Gamble

Stock quote displayed on Google

(However, if you do not know the company's name, entering it followed by the word "stock" may produce the same result.)

On top of Google's search results you should see a chart snapshot that, when clicked, points to Google Finance information about the stock including a larger chart, company description, officer list, and related information including news, events, and website addresses.

Below the chart you should find links to more company information on several external websites, such as (at the time this tip was written) Yahoo Finance and Reuters.
