Need to perform a Google search but the word or phrase you are looking for has several synonyms? Instead of checking out online thesaurus websites for possible alternate search queries, you can use Google's built-in synonym search. Just enter a search query and place a tilde (~) symbol before your query.

For example, if you search for words similar to "car" by querying Google with:

~car

Your search results may include webpages with the following words, among others (subject to change):

* motor
* vehicle

If you search for words similar to "game" by querying Google with:
