SUMMARY: Limit your Google searches to webpages in different languages.
You can use Google to search for pages written in specific languages. For example, you may be performing research that requires results in French, German, or Spanish. To perform language-specific searches, do the following:
(Note that this tip was written on 10/7/2004 - Google's interface is subject to change).
1. Access Google at http://www.google.com/
2. Click "Advanced Search".
3. Next to "Language" click on the pull-down to select your desired language.
4. Finish your search query next to "Find results".
5. Click "Google Search".
This setting causes Google to search for country-specific domains, such as .fr, .de, or .sp, and various other websites Google has learned to be written in other languages. Thus, it is possible that while Google thinks a website is in Italian, for example, it may actually be in English. Though not perfect, language-search for the most part should help you find what you need.
