iPhone - iPod Touch

iPod Touch: Switch Safari's Search Engine: Bing, Google, Yahoo!

SUMMARY: Configure Safari on the iPod or iPod Touch to use Bing, Google, or Yahoo!

If you tire of the default search engine in Safari on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can always directly access the mobile site of a different search engine instead.

However, the search engine accessed via Safari's search box is easy to change. So easy, in fact, that some search engines may try to change it for you if you don't read all the onscreen prompts when you manually access one for the first time...

1. Access the "Settings" utility / app.

2. From the main "Settings" screen, swipe down and click "Safari".

3. When the "Safari" screen appears, click "Search Engine".

4. The "Search Engine" screen appears. Choose from Google, Yahoo!, or Bing.

Note this tip was written on an iPod Touch (4th Generation) with iOS 4.2.1. Features, information, and screenshots are subject to change between operating system versions and devices.
