SUMMARY: Toggle IrfanView to be the viewer of choice when double-clicking multimedia file types from Windows Explorer.
Depending on your configuration options when installing IrfanView, it may automatically open whenever you double-click certain image or multimedia files in Windows Explorer.
You may later wish to change these associations by adding or removing file types to / from the list that automatically open IrfanView. To do so:
1. Choose "Options" - "Properties/Settings".
2. When the "Properties/Settings" dialog box appears, select "Extensions".
3. Check or uncheck file types to alter their IrfanView association statuses with Explorer. Or, for shortcuts, use the following buttons:
Toggling extensions of files to be opened with IrfanView
* "Select all" - Select all possible IrfanView associations
* "Images only" - Select all possible image types for IrfanView association
* "Clear all" - Do not associate IrfanView with any file types.
4. On Windows XP, you can check the "For all users" box to apply the associations for all users on the system.
5. If desired, check the "Other" box and add other possible associations separated by the pipe character "|". Note that by doing so you assume that IrfanView already has the code built-in to handle such associations.
