IrfanView 3 - Disable Most Recently Used Directories for Privacy

SUMMARY: Increase your privacy by making IrfanView forget the most recently used directories from where images were loaded or saved.

For convenience, IrfanView offers a "MRUDs" option in its "File" menu. This way you can access the most recently-used directories, locations where you may have opened or saved files.

While the most recently used directories feature may be a convenience, it can also be a potential privacy threat if multiple people share the same machine. Thus, you can turn it off if desired:

1. From IrfanView, choose "Options" - "Properties".

2. When the "Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Misc. 2" tab.

3. Underneath "Miscellaneous", uncheck "Add MRUDs to menu File".

4. Click the "Clear" button next to "MRUDs list".

5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note that the "MURDs" option will still be available underneath "File", but it should not be populated with directories.
