| Stop Animated GIFs from Playing SUMMARY: Prevent animated GIFs from playing inside IrfanView 3.
Displaying GIF files in IrfanView and tire of the animations in some of them? There are two ways to keep animated GIFs from playing.
* After loading an animated GIF into IrfanView, choose "Options" - "Stop Animation" or press the "G" key.
Or:
* Keep all animated GIFs from playing - period.
1. From IrfanView, choose "Options" - "Properties".
2. When the "Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "JPG/PCD/GIF" tab.
3. Underneath "GIF - Display", uncheck "Play animated GIFs (default: ON)".
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
Now any newly loaded animated GIFs will not play. If you want animated GIFs to play, repeat the above four steps but check the box.
