IrfanView 3

Display Information About the Current Picture

SUMMARY: Get detailed information on an image viewed in IrfanView including the resolution, file size, and number of unique colors.

While viewing and modifying images inside IrfanView, you may find the need to get more detailed information about the currently-open photo or picture. By clicking "Image" - "Information" or pressing "I", the following information is displayed:

* Image file name

* Image directory

* Full path to the image (file name plus directory)

* Image compression type (GIF, JPG, etc) if applicable

* Image resolution, original size, current size, and print size (from the defined DPI)

* Original and current numbers of colors per image, plus the number of unique colors in an image (this works with true-color images, too!)

* The amount of room the image takes up on the hard drive and memory

* The image's position in the current directory (is it the first image in the directory, the second image, etc.)

* The date and time the image was created

* How long it took to load the image

Depending on the image type, you may have options to read/edit comments or read/edit IPTC tags. These may require IrfanView plug-ins to work properly.
