Display Traffic from the Favorites Bar

SUMMARY: Display traffic reports from Live Search on the Internet Explorer 8 Favorites Bar with a Web Slice.

Need traffic information before you head to or leave from work, or before you head out on an errand or trip? With Internet Explorer 8, for selected USA cities a traffic report can be one click away on the Favorites Bar.

1. Access Live Search from Internet Explorer.

2. Enter a search query in the following format:

traffic US_CITY

Example queries:

traffic Houston
traffic Chicago
traffic San Diego

3. If this feature is supported for the desired city, a "Traffic for" link should be one of the first results, showing an overview map of traffic for the selected area. Areas of slow traffic are marked in red - fast-moving traffic is marked in green.
