MalekTips: 5-7-2004
Welcome to the latest issue of the MalekTips newsletter, offering you help and tips to get the most out of your computer. We appreciate your subscription!
Here's just some of what you can find by visiting the following web addresses:
* Avoid getting hit by an e-mail phishing scam! That official-looking e-mail from eBay, Amazon, Citibank, or other company asking for your personal information may not be so official after all. Visiting those e-mail links and entering information may take you to sites that look legitimate, yet may result in your credit card number getting stolen! This newsletter has information that may help you from becoming another identify theft victim.
* Learn more about Microsoft Word 2003's features. To save time, keyboard shortcuts are available for many operations, if you know how to find them. Automatic table of contents generation can help many documents look more professional. Plus, read on for instructions on disabling the sometimes unreliable "Reading" layout.
* If you still use floppy disks to transfer small files between computers, due to the viruses and worms that exist in this day and age, be sure to virus scan every floppy disk that you insert into your machine! Also, read on for other tips on handling floppy disks and keeping them away from potentially harmful conditions.
These new tips and more, 25 in total, can be found below in the latest version of MalekTips. Enjoy! And remember - if you have a computer question, be sure to check out the MalekTips forums at http://www.malektips.com/forums
