Welcome to the latest issue of the MalekTips newsletter, providing computer and technology help and tips. We appreciate your subscription!

We have 30 new tips found below in the latest issue of MalekTips.

* This newsletter has tips on cell phone usage that might save you time, money, and a lot of aggravation. Think those per-use cell phone deals are a great idea? Maybe - and maybe not. Think you'll only be charged once whenever you download a ringtone, screensaver, game, or wallpaper? You might get charged monthly. And if you constantly use your cell phone for pictures or entertainment, you might not have enough battery power left to take a call.

* Get more out of Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. Learn how the ruler, guide, and gridline features can help make your slideshows look more professional. Insert trademark, copyright, and foreign monetary symbols into your presentations. Save presentations where you want them, not just in the "My Documents" folder. And don't redo slides you've already created before - import them into your current presentation.

* Plus, this newsletter contains Microsoft Word 2003 information including how to speed it up by not proofreading all text, tips on downloading and using the Opera 7 web browser, advice on using the Rhapsody digital music service including how to access exclusive audio content, and tips for using the Yahoo! search engine including how to find cheap gasoline.

6-6-2005: The Mac is Going Intel

Apple has announced in a press release that it will begin using Intel processors beginning in 2006, and will transition "all of its Macs to using Intel microprocessors by the end of 2007". Already previewing a version of Mac OS X Tiger running on Intel, many are wondering if this means the Mac OS X may eventually be licensed to run on non-Mac hardware.

6-6-2005: Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox Vulnerability

Security firm Secunia has reported a vulnerabilty in the Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox web browsers (the latest versions are affected). Malicious websites can open content in supposedly trusted browser windows containing framesets, making it look like the malicious content came from the original trusted website. This can result in phishing attacks. Until a patch is made, do not visit trusted websites (such as those you must login to) at the same time you visit unknown, or untrusted, sites.

It seems that this bug was fixed in earlier versions of Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox but has somehow come back.

6-6-2005: Windows Remote Desktop Vulnerability

Security firm Secunia has reported a vulnerabilty in the Windows Remote Desktop feature. Man-in-the-middle attacks can occur on untrusted networks between a computer and a remote terminal server due to the hard-coding of the terminal server's public key in a DLL file.
