Read just some of what you can find by visiting the following web addresses:
* Get the most out of Internet Explorer 6's updates in Windows XP Service Pack 2. Use the pop-up blocker more efficiently by helping block only the pop-ups you want blocked. Stop playing sounds and displaying messages when pop-ups are blocked - have Internet Explorer 6 block windows silently. Manage 3rd-party add-ons in Internet Explorer 6 and disable potentially dangerous software from running.
* Learn more features found in the Google search engine. Save time browsing through multiple search results by opening web pages in new windows, keeping search results on screen. Define words with a variety of online dictionaries. Perform reverse-lookups on phone numbers. Browse the Directory instead of the main search engine for a possibly more refined list of results.
* Plus, this newsletter contains tips for Windows XP, general electronic mail advice, help for Outlook 2003 users, and Microsoft Word 2003 advice, including:
* Learn how to help keep your Windows XP system running smoothly by regularly scanning your hard drive for errors.
* Read why electronic mail attachments should be sent in separate messages to prevent your entire e-mails from possibly being blocked.
* Play different sounds in Outlook 2003 to help remind you of specific upcoming appointments.
* Speed up the display of complex graphics-rich Word 2003 documents.

8-27-2004: Proposed 2006 Target Date for Windows "Longhorn"
Accoring to a Microsoft press release, 2006 is now the target date for Windows "Longhorn", the next major revision of the Windows operating system. Several changes have been made to allow for this announced date, including postponing the new Windows file system, "WinFS", until after the "Longhorn" release. Also, the presentation subsystem "Avalon" and the communications subsystem "Indigo" should now be made available for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 users in 2006. This is in hopes that developers will write for these platforms that will now theoretically support a greater number of Windows users.
