MalekTips: 9-23-2003
* Welcome! *
Welcome to the newest issue of the MalekTips newsletter, offering you help and tips to get the most out of your computer.
* With all of the viruses going around nowadays, and the threats of more to come, isn't it time to lock your computer down and help prevent it from becoming a target of rogue software? This newsletter discusses the problems with file attachments sent by seemingly innocent people, and how you can keep your Internet Explorer browser up-to-date.
* If you're using Windows 98 and have problems playing multimedia files with Media Player or some other music player you downloaded over the Internet, there's a tip inside that may help. Or, if everything is working well, perhaps you want to add a little bass line to your tunes?
* For those DOS prompt junkies running Windows 2000, I have a replacement for a lost DOS command as well as a way to make your batch files stand out in case they need to report an error.
* Fall is upon us, and many people are looking to the changing of the leaf colors to inspire great new photographs. Don't let digital camera batteries running out of power keep you from taking wonderful photos! And in case your autumn explorations involve waterfalls, I've got a tip on how to make spectacular photographs with minor adjustments to your digital camera.
These tips and more can be found below in the latest version of MalekTips. Enjoy! And remember - if you have a computer question, be sure to check out the MalekTips forums at http://www.malektips.com/forums
