MalekTips: 10-1-2003
* Welcome! *
Welcome to the newest version of the MalekTips newsletter, offering you help and tips to get the most out of your computer.
* Bringing your digital camera to a family reunion or other autumnal outing? It's not enough to bring plenty of batteries - you need to bring the right kinds. Plus, you may want to change your shooting style to get crisp, clean photographs. And when you're ready to put your photos online, make sure the photos aren't too big for others to download!
* Got a lot of fonts? It's hard picking the right one to use for a particular document when you have many from which to choose. Find out how you can print out previews of how your fonts look on paper.
* Do you frequently transfer files from one computer to another via "sneakernet", the practice of copying files onto floppies? If so, sometimes programs and documents are too big to fit on such media. WinZip has a way to split files across several disks, ZIP disks, or CDs, but you have to know about it first.
These new tips and more, seventeen in total, can be found below in the latest version of MalekTips. Enjoy! And remember - if you have a computer question, be sure to check out the MalekTips forums at http://www.malektips.com/forums
