MalekTips: 10-8-2003
Welcome to the newest version of the MalekTips newsletter, offering you help and tips to get the most out of your computer.
* Enjoy playing CD tunes on your computer? You may want to choose a different CD player for added features. Or, take advantage of everything your default CD player has to offer, such as random playlist features.
* Need some help using your printer with Windows XP? Perhaps printing problems can be attributed to out-of-date device drivers, which can be updated if you know how to access your printer's website. Or, you may need to tinker with your printer options somewhat to get the best quality output, so why not make getting to your printer settings a little bit easier?
* Buying a new digital camera for the holidays? It's fun to get a new "toy", but you need to look beyond all the hype and focus on what you really need with your camera. If this is your first camera, learn why you should not worry about digital zoom and focus (pardon the pun) only on optical zoom. And if this digital camera is an upgrade, consider buying one where you can still use the batteries and digital media from your previous camera.
* Upgraded to Word XP? You may have noticed that all of the menu items are not available by default. I've got the information on showing all the menu items so you can unleash the full power of this word processor. Afterwards, you can make your documents stand out by importing graphics straight from your digital camera or scanner. Or, let your text flash, shimmer, and sparkle.
These new tips and more, 31 in total, can be found below in the latest version of MalekTips. Enjoy! And remember - if you have a computer question, be sure to check out the MalekTips forums at http://www.malektips.com/forums
