McAfee AntiSpyware - Remove Previously Trusted Programs

SUMMARY: Force McAfee AntiSpyware to once again detect programs you once trusted.

When performing a scan with McAfee AntiSpyware, you have the option of trusting certain applications. This way, if these malware items are later found on your machine, McAfee AntiSpyware will do nothing about it. One reason to trust malware is if it always shows up as a false alarm.

Later, you may wish to 'untrust' certain applications so that McAfee AntiSpyware will find them again. One reason may be that you found out a 'false alarm' wasn't false after all.

To make this change:

1. From McAfee AntiSpyware, click "Change Settings".

2. When the settings dialog box appears, click the "Trusted Programs" tab.

3. A list of trusted programs will appear. To remove one of these items from the trusted list, allowing McAfee AntiSpyware to once again find it during a scan, click the desired item and then the "Apply" button.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
