McAfee AntiSpyware

Remove Recent Events Sooner

SUMMARY: Keep an extended log of McAfee AntiSpyware events, or virtually eliminate it for privacy reasons.

McAfee AntiSpyware keeps a log of recent activity for 60 days. This way, you can go back and see what spyware was found during scans, when definition files were upgraded, etc.

You may wish to keep this log information for a longer or shorter period of time. Perhaps you wish to keep log entries for a year so you can go back and determine if there is a pattern of found spyware. Or, for privacy reasons, you may wish entries to only be kept for one day.

To change this setting:

1. From McAfee AntiSpyware, click "Change Settings".

2. When the settings dialog box appears, click the "Recent Events" tab.

3. Next to "days", select how many days you wish log items to be kept before being removed. You can select as few as one day or as long as 365 days (1 year).

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
