SUMMARY: Instead of placing music ripped from CDs via Windows Media Player 12 in your main "Music" folder, choose another location.
By default, when using Windows Media Player 12 to rip music CDs, audio files are placed in your "Music" folder, which in Windows 7 is C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\Music
If you would like to change this default directory, do the following:
First, either:
1. In "Library" view, click the "Organize" button.
2. Select "Options".
3. The "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears. Click the "Rip Music" tab.
OR:
1. Insert a CD to rip.
2. Once the "Rip settings" button appears, click it and a pull-down menu should appear.
3. Select "More options" to show the "Options" dialog box.

4. Next to "Rip music to this location", click the "Change" button.

5. Navigate your computer and find the desired folder, then click "OK".
6. Click "OK" on the "Options" dialog box to close it.
