Summary: Stop showing popup text when you hover your mouse pointer over charts in Microsoft Excel 2003 spreadsheets.
By default, when you hover your mouse pointer over a section of a chart created with Microsoft Excel 2003, tooltips, or popup text, will appear. These can display either the chart section area and/or the value of a chart item, such as a bar or pie wedge. While some appreciate this information, others do not like this popup text. If you fall in the latter category:
1. Click "Tools", selecting "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Chart" tab.
3. Underneath "Chart tips", uncheck "Show names" and "Show values".
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
