SUMMARY: If your mouse pointer moves too fast, consider looking through your operating system's Control Panel or Settings area.
Is your mouse pointer moving too fast, so that when you barely touch the mouse the cursor flies across the desktop? If so, you probably can fix this by changing your operating system's mouse pointer settings. Most operating systems let you slow down or speed up the mouse pointer as desired.
For example, in most versions of Windows, click on "Start", then "Control Panel" (or "Settings" then "Control Panel", depending on your version). Choose the "Mouse" control panel and access the "Pointer Options" screen. Now, you should see a section such as "Select a pointer speed". Move the slider bar to the left by clicking on it and dragging it slightly to the left. The more you move the bar to the left, the slower the pointer goes. Click "OK" when done.
