Are you working on a letter in Microsoft Word which you need to send once it is proofed, but you don't know when it will actually be sent? If so, instead of typing (and retyping) the date of the letter, select the "Insert" menu, then "Date and Time." In the dialog box that appears, select the format that you wish the date to appear, and check "Update Automatically (Select as Field)."
Now, whenever you actually print and send the letter, it will have the correct date! In fact, whenever you open the document, it will show the current date as the document's date. This could pose a problem if you later want to keep track when you actually sent the letter. To fix this, stop Word from automatically changing the date. Highlight the date, go back through "Insert" and "Date and Time," and uncheck "Update Automatically (Select as Field)."
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then,
