Windows NT - Compatible Hardware Tips

This tip was written by David Seger of Go Tennessee at (http://www.gotennessee.com).

Even slightly non-standard CD-ROM drives will give read errors. Use drives with standard ATAPI Mitsumi controllers. Panasonic drives should also work.

Very new video cards with non-standard chipsets will either be unsupported or unstable. Use cards with Paradise, Trident, or S3 chipsets when possible.

Use motherboards with Intel chipsets (controllers) and processors when possible.

Network cards are fairly standard by nature, but 3Com and NE2000 cards seem to work best.
