Opera
Keep JavaScript Enabled but Prevent Certain Operations
SUMMARY: Prevent JavaScript in web pages viewed in Opera from moving windows, resizing them, and more.
JavaScript is a feature used by more and more websites to add menus, interactivity, immediate feedback (AJAX), and other features. While the web is becoming more unusable if JavaScript is completely turned off, you can disable a few "features" in Opera such as automatic window resizing or moving and changing the status text.
1. Click the "Tools" menu, selecting "Preferences". Or press Ctrl + F12.
2. When the "Preferences" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Advanced" tab.
3. On the left side of the "Preferences" dialog box, select "Content".
4. On the right side of the "Preferences" dialog box, click "JavaScript Options". Note that if "Enable JavaScript" is disabled, this button will be disabled as well.
5. The "JavaScript Options" dialog box appears. Check or uncheck boxes as desired such as "Allow resizing of windows" and "Allow script to hide address bar". Note the "Open console on error" option is mainly used by developers.
6. When done, click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.
Return to the Opera page.
