Opera 8

Toggle the Status Bar

SUMMARY: Show hyperlink and page loading information in Opera 8 by enabling the status bar.

By default, Opera 8 does not show the status bar on the bottom of the screen. While this increases the screen real-estate available to show webpages, there may be instances where you wish to display the status bar. Sometimes it shows whether or not a webpage is loading, especially useful if your Internet connection is slow. As you navigate over hyperlinks, the status bar can show the URL you would visit if you clicked on said link. And some webpages use the status bar for other important messages.

To toggle the status bar on or off, choose "View" - "Toolbars" and check or uncheck "Status bar".

This tip is for an older version of the Opera web browser; instructions and information may not be applicable to the latest version.
