Opera 8 - Take Notes as You Browse the Web

SUMMARY: Quickly note important or interesting information about a particular website browsed in Opera 8 without grabbing a pen or opening Notepad.

While browsing the web using Opera 8, you might find the need to take down some notes about a particular webpage. Perhaps you found a new recipe you wish to later print, an auction you need to track, or a news story you wish to follow-up.

Instead of grabbing a pen or opening Notepad or another text editor to take notes, Opera comes built-in with a note-taking utility. Just select "Tools" - "Notes" and a "Notes" tab will appear. Press "New Note" in the toolbar and you can begin writing a note in the right pane. As you write notes, the first line or so of the notes will appear in the left pane so you can easily find them in the future.

Other features to note:

* Click and drag a note to the "Trash" to remove it temporarily. To permanently remove it, click on a note in the trash can and press the "Delete" button.

* Press "Send" to send your note via e-mail or IRC. Note you may need to set up an account in Opera to do so.

* Need to find a note? Click on "Quick find" and enter your search text. Matching notes will appear.

* Of course, notes don't have to be about webpages. They can be virtually anything you need to record - shopping lists, phone numbers, to-do items, etc.
