Outlook 2003 Misc

Remove Invalid E-Mail Addresses from Autocomplete List

SUMMARY: Remove contacts with invalid e-mail addresses from Outlook 2003's Autocomplete list.

When composing an e-mail, you may have come across a time where you have started entering a name in the "To" field, only to see an invalid or old nickname / e-mail address appear. To get rid of the invalid nickname or e-mail address from the Autocomplete list, just use your cursor keys to highlight the invalid nickname/address and press the DELETE key.

Or, if you wish, follow the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 287623 to delete the entire Nickname and Automatic Completion Cache:

MS KB 287623: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=kb;EN-US;Q287623

If you wish to disable e-mail address autocompletion entirely, look for the tip "Disable E-Mail Address Autocomplete" elsewhere in MalekTips' Outlook 2003 help and tips section.
