SUMMARY: Prevent passer-bys from accidentally spotting new e-mail arriving in your Outlook 2003 Inbox.
While running Outlook 2003, you may have co-workers around your machine as the group of you work on various tasks. If you receive e-mail while working on these tasks, Outlook 2003 automatically pops up a Desktop Alert and shows part of the message near the Windows Taskbar. You may not want your co-workers or others to view your incoming e-mail. Thus, if you wish to disable this alert:
1. Click "Tools", selecting "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Preferences" tab.
3. Click the "E-Mail Options" button.
4. When the "E-Mail Options" dialog box appears, click "Advanced E-Mail Options".
5. When the "Advanced E-Mail Options" dialog appears, uncheck "Display a New Mail Desktop Alert"
6. Click "OK" on the three dialog boxes to close them.
