Outlook 2003 - Sending Email - Send E-Mail as Plain Text to Mailing Lists

SUMMARY: Force Outlook 2003 to send e-mail as plain-text for those who don't prefer HTML or RTF e-mail.

It is highly recommended, when posting to mailing lists, to send your e-mail as plain text. The reason is that many people use the Internet with computers that do not support HTML or RTF e-mail like Outlook 2003, thus e-mail sent in this format just wastes bandwidth. Plus, it is considered good net etiquette to send e-mail to mailing lists as plain text.

1. Start composing an e-mail message.
2. Click "Format", choosing "Plain Text".

Note that when you send e-mail in plain text you cannot add colors, fonts, or graphics to your e-mail. You are limited to just ASCII text, but that does not prevent you from using smilies :)
