This tip was printed from the MalekTips Computer and Technology Help and Tips website at http://malektips.com. Outlook 2003 - Sending Email - UUencode AttachmentsSUMMARY: Encode attachments in Outlook 2003 so older computers can read the files.
If you need to send file attachments to people running e-mail clients on older computers, you may need to convert the attachments to something called UUencode. This is simply another way of sending e-mail attachments in a way those with older machines can view the files correctly. UUencode takes binary files and, through a conversion process, turns them into ASCII text. On the other end, your recipient would then UUdecode the files using software on their machine. |
