Outlook 2003 - Sending Email
Temporarily Proof E-mail in a Different Language
SUMMARY: Proofread Outlook 2003 e-mail messages delivered to those speaking languages other than English.
If you have clients in other parts of the world, as you send e-mail to them it may not be correct to spellcheck the messages against US English. E-mail sent to clients in France or Spain may be sent in their native tongue, thus doing a spellcheck on those documents in US English would become an exercise in futility. Likewise, e-mail sent to other English-speaking countries may require changes to match the local diction, such as using "colour" instead of "color".
Thus, you can temporarily change the default language Outlook 2003 uses to spellcheck your outgoing e-mail, either when you do so manually (using Tools - Spelling), or automatically, if you have Outlook 2003 configured to automatically spell-check outgoing e-mail.
1. From Outlook 2003, click "Tools", selecting "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Spelling" tab.
3. Underneath "International dictionaries", choose your desired language.
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
