If you have time to do something away from the computer for a while, you can have PestPatrol perform a more thourough scan whenever it checks your computer for spyware and other malware. According to the documentation, this "Thorough" mode is "able to detect new variants of RATs [Remote Access Trojans] and other pests".

To enable Thorough scanning mode from within PestPatrol:

1. Click the "Options" tab.
2. Click the "Where to Search" sub-tab.
3. Underneath "Scanning Method", click the "Thorough" radio button.
