Photoscape

Perform a Full Screen, Region, or Window Screen Capture

SUMMARY: Capture part or all of the screen with Photoscape and edit the captured image if needed.

Along with image viewing and editing, Photoscape also comes with a screen capture tool that can take a snapshot of the entire screen, a window, or a selected region. As Photoscape comes with editing tools, the captured image can be modified before saving.

1. From the Photoscape menu click the "Screen Capture" icon.

2. A "Screen Capture" dialog opens.

* Uncheck "Sound" if you do not want to hear sound during the capture process.

* Underneath "Capture Screen Process", click the "Copy to clipboard" radio button if you want to bypass the Photoscape editor and place the captured image directly in the clipboard.

3. To perform a screen capture:

* Click "Capture Full Screen" for a full screen capture.

* Click "Capture Window", then hover your mouse over window or window objects and you will see them bordered by rectangles. Click the mouse button to capture the window or window object.

* Click "Capture Region", then draw a region to capture with your mouse. Move your mouse pointer to the top-left of the region and click the left mouse button. Move the mouse pointer to the bottom-right area of the region. Click again to perform the capture.

Some programs may interfere with the region capture feature and not allow you to draw the rectangle. If this happens start the rectangle outside of the window, or use one of the other capture modes.

4. If you chose to place the image in the editor tab, you will then be able to modify the screen capture and save it, if desired.
