Change the Interface Language

SUMMARY: Localize Picasa by changing its interface language for menus and dialogs.

By default, Picasa uses your operating system's language as its own interface language. For various reasons you may wish to change this so Picasa's menus and dialogs appear in Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, or a variety of other languages.

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, make sure the "General" tab is selected.

3. Underneath "Language used in menus and dialogs", click the pull-down and choose a different language.

4. Click "OK".

5. Confirm that you want to change the language Picasa uses by clicking "Yes" when the dialog box appears.

6. Restart Picasa.

Note that localization is not perfect. For example, when changing the interface to French you may still see dialog boxes with "Yes" and "No".

This tip was written regarding Picasa 3.1.0 running on a Windows Vista machine. Features, information, and screenshots for other versions / operating systems may vary.
