Make GIF, PNG, and TGA Files Visible, as Well as Smaller Pictures

SUMMARY: If you have GIF, PNG, and TGA photos you need visible in Picasa, make the following tweaks.

Depending on your configuration, though Picasa supports .GIF, .PNG, and .TGA files, these may not be visible by default. To enable them and support adding such files into albums, do the following:

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "File Types" tab.

3. Check ".GIF", ".PNG", and ".TGA".

Enable viewing .GIF, .PNG, and .TGA files in Picasa

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note that Picasa, by default, ignores pictures that it deems "small", less than 250 x 250 pixels. Some .GIF and other files may be in this category. To enable viewing them, select the "View" - "Small Pictures" menu item to check it.
