Feeling Blue? Search for Photos Matching Your Mood

SUMMARY: Find photos in Picasa matching particular colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, or black and white.

An experimental feature in Picasa is the ability to search for photos matching a particular color. This way you can look for photos that contain amounts of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, or black and white.

There are two ways to try this Library View feature. From the menu bar, select "Tools", "Experimental", "Search for", and then your desired color.

Or, in Picasa's search box, enter color:, followed by your color name. You can combine this with other keywords to only search for New York-related photos containing the color blue, for example:

color:blue New York

Since this option was in the "Experimental" menu at the time this tip was written, it may not always work as expected.

This tip was written regarding Picasa 3.1.0 running on a Windows Vista machine. Features, information, and screenshots for other versions / operating systems may vary.
