Do you use a UN*X shell account when accessing the Internet? If so, you might be familiar with the Pine E-Mail reader. Here are some tips for using this software.


 

#1: Jump to Messages Quicker
Configure Pine to allow you to jump to particular message numbers just by typing the number on the keyboard.

#2: Remove Quit Confirmation
Prevent Pine from asking you for confirmation whenever you quit the software.

#3: Full E-Mail Headers
Toggle the display of full e-mail headers in Pine.

#4: Resort Your Messages
Sort your e-mail messages in Pine via date, subject, or other fields.

#5: Different Way of Cutting Text
Change how Pine cuts text, either the entire line or from the cursor to the end of the line.

#6: Bounce Messages
Enable Pine's "bounce message" feature.

#7: More Commands Available
Display more commands in Pine than are visible onscreen.

#8: Rename Mail Folders
Rename folders where e-mail is stored via Pine.

#9: More Room for Messages
Turn off PINE menus to use more of the screen to display e-mail.
