Sticky Notes

Cover Your Desktop with Sticky Notes with Audible Reminders

SUMMARY: Add skinnable sticky notes to your Windows Desktop with the open-source and highly-configurable PNotes.

PNotes is an open-source sticky notes program for Windows that lets you flood your Desktop with notes just like you cover your desk with them <g>.

The sticky notes "float" over your open windows (though you can disable this), and you can change text font, size, color, style, and alignment. Highlight text inside a note. Create bullet points. Instead of deleting completed items from notes, cross them out by using the "Strikethrough" button so you can see finished tasks. You can even have notes play customizable alarm sounds at a given time for further reminding of an upcoming appointment.

PNotes adds an icon to the System Tray area of the Windows Taskbar. Right-click it to select options such as docking notes to the side of the screen, searching for notes, organizing notes into groups with a Control Panel, and changing the display language. Notes can be made semi-transparent. You can define hotkeys to create new notes via a keyboard shortcut or toggle or view all notes. PNotes can be made to run on system startup.

You can also change the notes' skin to make notes look like tacked-on sticky notes, plus more are available online. You can even download a creator to develop your own skins.
