Consider Rotating Your Digital Camera 90 Degrees

SUMMARY: Show more of your subject in your digital photos.Bookmark and Share

By rotating your digital camera 90 degrees, making your photographs taller yet thinner, you can easier get a person's full body in the photograph. This is especially helpful if your subject is in front of a tall subject.

For example, on a recent trip to St. Augustine I took a photograph of someone standing next to a very ornate clock. Shooting the photo in portrait mode would have meant either only getting the person's upper torso, or I would have had to stand very far back, losing detail.
