Another reason you should try placing your subjects in well-lit areas and avoiding flash - flash can reflect off of peoples' clothing, causing small, undesired flares. This is especially true if your subject is wearing a ring, watch, a shiny belt buckle, or clothes with shiny buttons that can reflect light.
