PowerPoint 2003 - Misc

Browse a Slide Show in a Window

SUMMARY: Slide shows don't have to be full screen - browse them inside a window.

By default, Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 presentations are displayed in full screen mode, hiding the Windows Taskbar and other onscreen elements.

However, there may be times where you want to browse a slide show while keeping the Taskbar visible. With this option, you can easily jump back and forth between applications, keeping the slide show running without having both it and the main PowerPoint window open. Plus, the window provides a menu bar and toolbar for access to frequently-used commands.

Viewing a PowerPoint 2003 slide show in a window

1. In the menu bar, select "Slide Show" - "Set Up Show".

2. The "Set Up Show" dialog box appears. Underneath "Show type", click the "Browsed by an individual (window)" radio button.

3. If desired, check "Show scrollbar" so you can scroll through the presentation with a scrollbar instead of arrow keys or action buttons.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
