PowerPoint 2003 - Misc

Save all Presentations as a Different Type to Support Users of Different Versions

SUMMARY: Save presentations made in PowerPoint 2003 as a different file type, such as those made by earlier or later versions of PowerPoint.

If you often share presentations made in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 with others using different versions of PowerPoint, it may prove useful to save presentations by default in formats these other versions can read in case coworkers do not have converters installed.

For example, depending on your installed updates and add-ins, you can even save presentations by default in the format usable by PowerPoint 2007.

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Save" tab.

3. Underneath "Save PowerPoint files as", click the checkbox and choose your default file type.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Features not available in the earlier versions of PowerPoint will not translate well when you save files as these older types.
