PowerPoint 2003 Menus - Toolbars - Status Bar - Toggle Popup Toolbar in Slideshows

SUMMARY: Decide whether or not a popup toolbar should appear when playing slideshows in PowerPoint 2003.

Depending on your Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 configuration, when playing a slideshow, you may be able to open a popup toolbar by moving your mouse. This toolbar lets you skip to different slides, create ink annotations, or end the presentation prematurely.

Your needs will determine whether or not you wish this toolbar to appear. Though it may prove convenient in navigating your presentation, the toolbar may cover up elements of your slides or otherwise make the presentation appear less than professional.

To toggle the toolbar's display:

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "View" tab.

3. Underneath "Slide show", check or uncheck "Show popup toolbar" as desired.
