PowerPoint 2003 - Misc

Stop Capitalizing the First Word

SUMMARY: Prevent PowerPoint 2003 from automatically capitalizing the first word in a sentence.

When entering words in slides, Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 assumes you are always typing sentences. To "help" prevent you from making mistakes, if it notices the first word in a phrase does not start with a capital letter, it will change this for you.

While many people appreciate this feature, others often may type bullet points or other text in a presentation that they don't want automatically capitalized. Thus, this feature can be toggled:

1. Select "Tools" - "AutoCorrect Options".

2. When the "AutoCorrect" dialog box appears, select the "AutoCorrect" tab if it is not selected already.

3. Check or uncheck "Capitalize first letter of sentences".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
